Resumen de A Serra do Galiñeiro no Antropoceno

  A Serra de Galiñeiro é unha unidade fisiográfica. A xénese das rochas que a conforman, implicou a apertura e destrución dun océano, a colisión e a sutura de continentes e a creación dunha gran cordilleira, a erosión desa cordilleira ata que as rochas primixenias acadaron a superficie e adquiriron a morfoloxía actual; todo isto caracterizou a Serra como un retallo dunha gran superficie de erosión cos seus correspondentes relevos residuais e elementos de chanzos erosivos. Analízanse os condicionantes que a actual posición e morfoloxía da Serra impón no seu carácter de territorio, considérase a súa integración no sistema agrario tradicional como monte, cumprindo as típicas funcións deste, sinaladamente o de ámbito de xestión de herbívoros;

  utilizando o lume como medio de conformación do territorio, o que deu na creación dunha bioestrutura particular.

  Véndoa nunha perspectiva temporal, e integrando a acción antrópica, podería considerarse na Serra un aspecto histórico, o que abriría algúns matices no argumentario da súa conservación.

  Galiñeiro Mountains are a physiographic unit. The genesis of the rocks that form it implied the opening and destruction of an ocean, the collision and the suture of continents and the creation of a big range, the erosion of that range until the primeval rocks reached the surface and acquired the current morphology; all this characterized the Sierra as a snippet of a big erosion surface with its corresponding waste relieves and elements of erosive steps.

  We analysed the conditions that the current position and morphology of the Sierra imposes in its character as a territory and consider its integration into the traditional land system as mountain terrain that fulfils its typical functions, mainly that of area for herbivores management; here, fire is used as means to conform the territory;

  this fact produced the creation of a particular biostructure.

  This area is considered from a temporary perspective and, integrating the anthropic action, it’s possible to study it under a historical aspect, which would open some nuances in the arguments to promote its conservation.
