    El Institutum Canarium ha informado ya en varias ocasiones sobre los denominados monumentos en forma de (USMs / formas de vulva, por sus siglas en inglés): Ulbrich 2016, 2018a, 2018b, 2020. En este caso se trata de geoglifos de carácter cultual y construcciones de piedra seca de diverso tamaño y grado de complejidad, que presumiblemente ya estaban en uso en el Neolítico y, en determinadas localidades, aún lo sigan estando. Para arte rupestre se emplearon las formas en ya desde la Paleolítico superior. En Lanzarote aparecen estos grabados rupestres y construcciones de piedra, pero no hasta la Edad del Bronce, y se emplearon hasta avanzada la Antigüedad clásica con trazos simples al objeto de venerar a la Madre Tierra.

    The Institutum Canarium offered its readers already quite a few papers about the so-called U-shaped-monuments (USMs / vulva forms), see Ulbrich 2016, 2018a, 2018b, 2020. They deal with cultic geoglyphs and dry-stone buildings of different size and complexity. Simple forms appeared already in the Neolithic age and are partly still in use up to our times. As rock art panels they can be even older (Upper Paleolithic). In Lanzarote such motifs were used as petroglyphs and as stone constructions starting in the Bronze Age for the worshipping of Mother Earth and being continued up to the late antiquity.

    Das Institutum Canarium hat bereits mehrfach über die sogenannten U-shaped-monuments (USMs / Vulva-Formen) berichtet: Ulbrich 2016, 2018a, 2018b, 2020. Es handelt sich hier um kultische Geoglyphen und Trockensteinbauten mit unterschiedlicher Größe und Komplexität, die vermutlich schon im Neolithikum im Einsatz waren und lokal wohl noch heute im Einsatz sind. Für Felsbilder wurden die -Formen bereits seit dem Jungpaläolithikum verwendet. Auf Lanzarote tauchen solche Felsgravuren und Steinbauten aber erst in der Bronzezeit auf und wurden bis zur auslaufenden Antike mit mehr oder weniger simplen Ritzungen bzw. Grundrissen zur Verehrung der Mutter Erde eingesetzt.
