    En la Sevilla barroca se recibía con júbilo la subida al cardenalato de su prelado sabiendo que el capelo rojo es la máxima distinción eclesiástica y un reconocimiento muy personal de afecto del Sumo Pontífice. Se estudia en el trabajo el protocolo y rúbricas del nombramiento analizando la existencia de una ciudad que conoce el esplendor y la crisis sin dejar su fe católica y su manifestación popular desde la aguerrida devoción en la búsqueda del dogma de la Inmaculada Concepción o el ejemplo de apostolado social del venerable Miguel Mañara.

    In baroque Seville, the rise to the cardinalate of its prelate was received with joy, knowing that the red hat is the highest ecclesiastical distinction and a very personal recognition of the affection of the Supreme Pontiff. The protocol and rubrics of the appointment are studied in the work, analyzing the existence of a city that knows splendor and crisis without abandoning in Catholic faith and it is popular manifestation from the brave devotion in the search for the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the example of social of the venerable Miguel Mañara.
