Resumen de Los costos de organizar la vida humana en ciudades: San Luis Potosí frente a la encrucijada ambiental

  Proyecciones apuntan que para el año 2050, casi el 70% de la humanidad vivirá en ciudades, es pertinente contrastar dicha organización socioterritorial con las graves problemáticas ambientales, con las necesidades de otras vidas —no sólo humanas—, y con las luchas históricas de sujetas y sujetos que han sido despojadas de sus formas de vida. Este artículo es el esfuerzo de uno de esos contrastes, y tiene como objetivo identificar repercusiones socioambientales actuales de la organización de la vida humana en ciudades, tomando como base la ciudad de San Luis Potosí, México, para evidenciar sus costos y repercusiones, en el contexto histórico de problemáticas ambientales que estamos enfrentando a nivel global.

  Projections indicate that by the year 2050, almost 70% of humanity will live in cities, it is urgent to contrast this socio-territorial organization with the serious environmental problems, also with the necessities of other lives —not only human—, and with the historical struggles of subjects that have been dispossessed of their ways of life. This article is the effort of one of those contrasts, and its objective is to identify current socio-environmental repercussions of the organization of human life in cities, based on the city of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to show the costs of the aforementioned socio-territorial organization in the historical context of environmental problems that we are facing globally.
