Adolfo Morales V., Fredy A. Parra P., Phanor Hoyos G.

The digestibility and voluntary consumption of Brachiaria humidicola CIAT 679 under three diferent pasturing pressure or equivalent charges of 1.9, 2.9 and 5.7 an/ha was measured; using cro- mium oxide paper and digestible neutral fiber as indicators. The voluntary consumption was greater (P< 0.05) in the charge of 2.9 an/ha (59.8g D.M/ W°*75/day) compared with the charge of 5.7 an/ha (44.3 g jDM/W°-7S/day); but similar to the consumption of the charge of 1.9 an/ha (50.4 g DMA/V0,75/ day). The consumption in phase I (583 gDM/V^/day) was greater (P< 0.05) than phase II (44.1 g DM/W0,7S/day). The digestibility of forage (52.1 o/o) did not vary significantly with pasture preasure of measurement phase.
