Resumen de Maria Antònia Salvà i el centenari del naixement de Verdaguer. Homenatge a Llucmajor

El gener de 1946, Maria Antònia Salvà pronuncià a Llucmajor, davant les autoritats locals i en català, una treballada conferència sobre Jacint Verdaguer: era el seu particular homenatge al poeta que, segons confessava ella mateixa, l’havia impulsat a escriure en català. La preparació, descripció de l’acte (que comptà amb un recitat de poemes verdaguerians també preparat per ella) i transcripció de la conferència és el nucli d’aquest article. Completat amb dos punts més. Per una banda, les circumstàncies que envoltaren la seva forçada participació en el número que Cristiandad dedicà al poeta de Folgueroles; així com el seguiment que des de Llucmajor va poder fer, a través sobretot de la correspondència amb Josep Ros i Artigues, dels actes més o menys clandestins (en tot cas, al marge de l’oficialitat) amb què, a Barcelona i a Folgueroles, es festejà també el centenari del naixement del poeta.

In January of 1946, Maria Antònia Salvà delivered in Catalan a rigorously prepared lecture on Jacint Verdaguer in Llucmajor in the presence of local authorities. It was her personal homage to the poet who, as she herself confessed, had inspired her to write in Catalan. The core of this study features the preparation and description of the event (including a recital of Verdaguer poems prepared by Salvà) and also the transcription of the lecture. Two further points are added to this: firstly, the circumstances which forced her to contribute to the issue of Cristiandad dedicated to Verdaguer; and secondly, how she was able to follow, from Llucmajor and especially by means of correspondence with Josep Ros i Artigues, the more or less clandestine events (in any case, not permitted by authorities) that were held in Barcelona and Folgueroles to celebrate the centennial of the poet’s birth.
