    Se establecieron 24 parcelas temporales de 500 m2 para la determinación del aporte de hojarasca de las especies más abundantes del ecosistema de Pinar sobre Alturas de Pizarra en Pinar del Rí­o, entre los años 2005 y 2006, realizando análisis quí­mico al follaje de las especies seleccionadas, se determinó el aporte individual por tipo de sitio y el volumen de biomasa que aportan las especies del sotobosque al suelo, así­ como el contenido de minerales que recibe el suelo mediante la hojarasca por especie y total.
