Resumen de Comportamiento de la migración otoñal de Setophaga ruticilla (Passeriformes: Parulidae) en diferentes formaciones vegetales del Cabo de San Antonio, Península de Guanahacabibes, Cuba

  Setophaga ruticilla es una especie que durante el periodo otoñal atraviesa el Golfo de México y la Reserva de la Biosfera Península de Guanahacabibes es un área de estancia en este período. Con este trabajo nos proponemos describir el comportamiento de Setophaga ruticilla durante la migración otoñal en diferentes formaciones vegetales, del Cabo de San Antonio, península de Guanahacabibes, para establecer una línea base que permita mostrar cambios posteriores durante la migración, poder llevar a cabo seguimiento del estatus específico y sentar bases para el manejo territorial. Se efectuaron capturas con redes ornitológicas en los meses de septiembre, octubre y noviembre desde el año 2015 hasta el 2019. A cada individuo capturado se le anilló y se les tomaron diferentes variables morfológicas. La especie comienza a aparecer en el área en septiembre, pero los picos de mayor tasa de captura se observan en octubre. Los mayores porcentajes de capturas se registraron entre las 08:00 hr y las 10:00 hr. Del total de individuos procesados (N = 610), el 14 % representa los adultos y el 86 % a los juveniles. La tasa poblacional de esta especie sufrió fluctuaciones, además se constató que hubo más capturas de machos que de hembras. El peso promedio de la especie en el área fue de 7,49±3,52 g. La mediana para la edad fue 2, para el cráneo 5, para grasa 2 y para músculo 2. Las mayores tasas de capturas se registraron en área transicional y bosque semideciduo.

  Setophaga ruticilla is a species that crosses the Gulf of Mexico during the autumn period and the Guanahacabibes Peninsula Biosphere Reserve is an area of stay in this period. With this work we propose to describe the behavior of Setophaga ruticilla during the autumn migration in different plant formations, from Cabo de San Antonio, Guanahacabibes peninsula, to establish a baseline that allows to show later changes during migration, to be able to carry out monitoring of the specific status and lay the foundations for territorial management. Captures were made with ornithological nets in the months of September, October and November from 2015 to 2019. Each individual captured was ringed and different morphological variables were taken. The species begins to appear in the area in September, but the peaks with the highest capture rate are observed in October. The highest percentages of captures were recorded between 08:00 hr and 10:00 hr. Of the total of processed individuals (N = 610), 14% represent adults and 86% juveniles. The population rate of this species fluctuated, and it was also found that there were more captures of males than females. The average weight of the species in the area was 7.49 ± 3.52 g. The median age was 2, for the skull 5, for fat 2 and for muscle 2. The highest capture rates were recorded in the transitional area and semi-deciduous forest.
