Resumen de Las miradas del murciélago: Batman y el espíritu de los tiempos

El cine de superhéroes se ha convertido en un hito ineludible del panorama cultural contemporáneo. Atendiendo a esa importancia, en este artículo se toma el ejemplo singular de Batman, para examinar cómo las diferentes versiones que este personaje ha protagonizado en cine (la de Tim Burton, la de Joel Schumacher, la de Christopher Nolan y la de Matt Reeves) funcionan como un comentario cultural en un triple sentido: acerca de cómo el superhéroe ha sufrido determinadas mutaciones; sobre cómo la industria de Hollywood ha modulado la producción de blockbusters; y a cómo responden estas películas al contexto sociohistórico en las que fueron producidas y recibidas. Para ello, se tendrá en cuenta la diferente puesta en forma de estas cuatro materializaciones fílmicas, concretada en cuatro miradas (romántica, camp, racionalista y neo-noir), que ponen de manifiesto la singular relevancia del cine de superhéroes, y del personaje de Batman en particular, a la hora de interpretar la cultura contemporánea

Superhero movies have become an important milestone on the current cultural scene. Thus, this paper focuses its attention in Batman, a singular character whose several cinematic versions (in films directed by Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves, respectively) can be useful to examine the different cultural comments that those movies make about three topics: the mutations suffered by the concept and representation of superhero; how Hollywood and the majors has changedthe production of blockbusters; and the answer of these movies to the social and historical context where they were made and saw. For it, this paper will analyze the different staging (narrative, audiovisual and discursive) of the four modes of representation by each filmmaker, specified in four gazes (romantic gaze, camp gaze, rationalist gaze and neo-noir gaze), that reveal the singular relevance of superhero movies, and the carácter of Batman in particular, to interpret the contemporary culture
