La presente investigación es una propuesta que versa sobre cómo el uso de las matemáticas, en la filosofía de cuatro filósofos del siglo XVII, se convirtió en un peligro contra la existencia del ente divino, lo cual abrió pasó al robustecimiento del ateísmo. Debe tenerse en cuenta que estos filósofos (Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza y Newton) no pretendían destruir o negar la existencia divina, sino por el contrario, reforzarla con sus sistemas filosóficos. Sin embargo, el uso de las matemáticas no logró su cometido.

This proposal attempts to prove how mathematics was strategically used by four recognized philosophers of the XVIII century to question the existence of a divine entity. This thesis opened and strengthened the path towards atheism. The actual intention of those philosophers (Descartes, Hobes, Spinoza, and Newton) was not by any means to deny the existence of a divine entity, but rather to reinforce it through their philosophical thesis; however, they failed to accomplish their objective.
