Este trabajo examina el significativo impacto de la Superliga, una competición alternativa a la estructura actual liderada por la UEFA, que ha provocado en el ámbito jurídico y deportivo. Se explora la historia de la Superliga, que ha sido un proyecto recurrente durante casi tres décadas, y su papel en la evaluación del TJUE sobre la normativa de la FIFA y la UEFA. Se analiza la trayectoria judicial que llevó a la destacada sentencia del 21 de diciembre de 2023, donde el TJUE identifica un abuso de posición dominante y la violación de los artículos 101 y 102 del TFUE por parte de ambas asociaciones organizadoras del fútbol. Esta investigación arroja luz sobre las implicaciones legales y la evolución de la Superliga en el contexto europeo y deportivo.

This paper examines the significant impact of the Super League, an alternative competition to the current structure led by UEFA, which has caused in the legal and sports arenas. The history of the Super League, a recurring project for almost three decades, and its role in the evaluation by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) regarding the regulations of FIFA and UEFA are explored. The judicial trajectory leading to the notable judgment on December 21, 2023, is analyzed, where the CJEU identifies an abuse of dominant position and a violation of Articles 101 and 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) by both football organizing associations. This research sheds light on the legal implications and evolution of the Super League in the European and sports context.
