  El sector servicio se caracteriza por la realización de actividades comerciales, con el paso del tiempo han surgido nuevas actividades que permiten el fortalecimiento de las economías: de modo que, el objetivo de este artículo es analizar el sector servicios y su aporte al crecimiento económico del cantón Rocafuerte. La metodología utilizada fue de enfoque mixto, integrando enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo, se empleó el método deductivo y analítico mediante la interpretación de los resultados, por consiguiente, se usó el método lógico histórico, a su vez se utilizó la técnica documental a fin de lograr el desarrollo de la investigación. Como principales resultados se logró desarrollar un análisis síntesis del sector servicio y su aporte al crecimiento económico del cantón Rocafuerte, obteniendo que el sector servicio ha tenido un efecto positivo en el crecimiento económico del cantón. Además, se planteó un modelo econométrico que permitió determinar que las variables dependiente e independiente tienen una relación estadísticamente significativa, es decir, que la variable dependiente es significativa al modelo.

  The service sector is characterized by the execution of commercial activities, and over time, new activities have emerged that contribute to the strengthening of economies. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the service sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the Rocafuerte canton. The methodology used employed a mixed approach, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods. A deductive and analytical method was applied through the interpretation of the results. Additionally, a logical-historical method was utilized, along with documentary techniques to facilitate the research development. As the main results, a synthesis analysis of the service sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the Rocafuerte canton was achieved, revealing that the service sector has had a positive effect on the economic growth of the canton. Furthermore, an econometric model was proposed, determining that the dependent and independent variables have a statistically significant relationship. In other words, the dependent variable is significant to the model.
