    La importancia que se le daba en la sociedad de la Edad Moderna a aspectos tan interesantes como la jerarquía, el rango o el lugar ocupado en ceremonias y actos públicos fue motivo de numerosos conflictos entre los miembros de instituciones representantes del poder del monarca, tales como los que ponemos de relieve en este trabajo, reflejando la lucha por la defensa de sus preeminencias por parte del chanciller y registrador de la Real Audiencia de Santa Fe.
