       A lo largo de los años, los especialistas en Hobbes han dedicado gran atención a descifrar la imagen producida para el Leviathan por Abra­ham Bosse con las indicaciones creativas de Thomas Hobbes. En cam­bio, este artículo se enfoca en la recepción y reinvención de esta imagen, posiblemente la más icónica dentro del imaginario estatal. La atención se dirige aquí, en particular, a dos obras de arte contemporáneas: Some/ One (2005) de Do-Ho Suh y Leviathan Thot (2006) de Ernesto Neto. Ambas obras recuerdan visualmente y reproblematizan el frontispicio de Hobbes: su escenificación del cuerpo político y las complejas relacio­nes entre los elementos que lo componen. Por lo tanto, nos ofrecen una curiosa perspectiva desde la cual volver a involucrarnos con la obra de Hobbes y la estética política que la ha inmortalizado.

    Over the years great care has been lavished by scholars of Hobbes on decoding the image produced for Leviathan by Abraham Bosse with the creative input of Thomas Hobbes. This article focusses instead on the reception and remaking of this image, arguably the most iconic image in the statist imaginary. Attention turns here, in particular, to two con­temporary artworks, Do-Ho Suh’s Some/One (2005) and Ernesto Neto’s Leviathan Thot (2006). Both of these artworks visually recall and re-pro­blematize Hobbes’s frontispiece: its depiction of the political body and of the complex relationships between the elements comprising it. They therefore offer us a curious perspective from which to re-engage with Hobbes’s work and the political aesthetics that has immortalized it.
