The objective of this work is to analyse the importance of the use of symbols in the reign of James I of Aragon as they helped him establish an image of power as miles Christi. For this, the Llibre dels Feys is an essential source. Through its lines, it is possible to recognize regalia such as the royal sign of Aragón, the sword, or prophylactic elements of devotional nature which will have an important echo in Jaime’s sigillography. But also, while approaching the aspect of miles Christi, we have attended the king’s legislative facet. This work also explores the comparison between the Catalan chronicle and the Segunda Partidaof Alfonso X the Wise, which highlighting the complexity of the Conqueror’s personality as caput militia Christi.
