Cultura física en el entorno universitario: tendencia de opciones deportivas y de actividad física desde estudiantes mexicanos en ciencias de la salud

    Este trabajo obedece a la investigación “Cultura física universitaria: diagnóstico y propuesta”, correspondiente a las actividades del Cuerpo Académico UACJ-112 Cultura Física, Educación y Sociedad, de la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), en el estado de Chihuahua, México. Desde una metodología de corte cuantitativo, el objetivo fue conocer la frecuencia de actividad física y práctica deportiva, además del conocimiento que el estudiantado del Instituto de Ciencias Biomédicas tiene sobre la oferta deportiva y de recreación física de la UACJ; así mismo identificar su interés por aquellas actividades y disciplinas deportivas complementarias que desearían que se ofrecieran dentro de las actividades extracurriculares. Como parte de los hallazgos, un segmento importante del estudiantado desconoce la oferta extracurricular deportiva, así como la infraestructura para este rubro. Se concluye acerca de la importancia de la práctica deportiva y la actividad física en el proceso formativo estudiantil, a la vez que se resalta la importancia de conocer aquellas actividades físicas y deportivas que al estudiantado gustaría realizar dentro de la universidad, aspecto que coadyuva en la consideración de conformar, ampliar o fortalecer una política de cultura física universitaria.

    This work derives from the research “University Physical Culture: Diagnosis and proposal”, corresponding to the activities of the UACJ-112 Physical Culture, Education and Society Academic Body of the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), in Chihuahua, Mexico. From a quantitative methodology, the objective was to know the frequency of physical activity and sports practice, in addition to the knowledge that the students of the Instituto de Ciencias Biomédicas have about the sports and physical recreation offer of the UACJ, as well as to identify their interest in those complementary sports activities and disciplines that they would like to be offered within the extracurricular activities. As part of the findings, an important segment of the student is unaware of the extracurricular sports offer, as well as the infrastructure for this activities. It is concluded about the importance of sports practice and physical activity in the student training process, while highlighting the importance of knowing those physical and sports activities that the student body would like to perform within the university, an aspect that contributes to the considerations of conforming, expanding, or strengthen a university physical culture policy.
