  O presente trabalho se propôs a realizar um estudo sobre a importância da economia na preservação do patrimônio. O objetivo principal foi abordar os motivos para se intervir nos centros históricos, o abandono dos centros históricos, os problemas enfrentados pelos moradores das áreas protegidas, assim como a importância da revitalização dos centros históricos, e a relação da economia e a preservação do patrimônio. O patrimônio cultural é uma atividade econômica, visto que a patrimonialização resgata a memória e a história de um lugar e valoriza o bem conservado.

  The present study proposes to conduct a study on the importance of the economy in heritage preservation. The main objective was to address the reasons to intervene in historical centers, the abandonment of the historic centers, the problems faced by the residents of the protected areas, as well as the importance of the revitalization of historic centers, and the relationship between the economy and the preservation of heritage. The cultural heritage is an economic activity, since the patrimonialization redeems the memory and the history of a place and enhances the well maintained.
