    El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la figura de Gabriel González Videla bajo sus labores como senador, diplomático y presidente de la República de Chile, con el propósito de indagar sobre su visión respecto a la ideología comunista en el escenario político nacional e internacional. A través del análisis de numerosas fuentes documentales obtenidas del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile (MINREL), Biblioteca del Congreso Nacional de Chile (BCN) y fondos de Naciones Unidas (ONU), nos proponemos ampliar el estudio respecto al giro anticomunista adoptado por el último estandarte de los gobiernos radicales, que tuvo como máxima expresión la proscripción del Partido Comunista chileno (PCCh) en 1948 con la entrada en vigor de la Ley de Defensa Permanente de la Democracia.Palabras clave: Gabriel González Videla, Naciones Unidas, Checoslovaquia, Anticomunismo, Imperialismo soviético.

    The objective of this paper is to analyze the figure of Gabriel González Videla under his work as senator, diplomat and president of the Republic of Chile, with the purpose of inquiring about his vision regarding communist ideology in the national and international political scene. Through the analysis of numerous documentary sources obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile (MINREL), the Library of the National Congress of Chile, National Library of Chile and funds from the United Nations (UN), we intend to expand the study regarding the anticommunist turn adopted by the last standard of radical governments, which had as its maximum expression the proscription of the Chilean Communist Party (PCCh) in 1948 with the entry into force of the Law for the Permanent Defense of Democracy. Keywords: Gabriel González Videla, United Nations, Czechoslovakia, Anti-comunism, Soviet Imperialism.
