Resumen de O reconhecimento do cuju como percursor do futebol no século XXI

  Nesta pesquisa apresenta-se algumas considerações sobre o cuju (蹴鞠), uma atividade coletiva que ocorreu na região da China entre os séculos III e II a.C., na qual os participantes praticavam jogos envolvendo chutes com a bola, com pequenas diferenças do futebol no mundo contemporâneo, que se moldou efetivamente no final do século XIX. O objetivo desta investigação é demonstrar que o cuju é importante no processo de contextualização sobre a história do esporte para o ocidente, fato que fez com que a FIFA reconhecesse no início do século XXI a prática do cuju como a percussora do futebol no ocidente. A partir de fontes e bibliografia, indico nesta pesquisa dois possíveis fatores históricos responsáveis por definir no mundo ocidental como os ingleses obtiveram a alcunha de “os inventores do futebol”.

  This research presents some considerations about cuju (蹴鞠), a collective activity that took place in the region of China between the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC, in which participants practiced games involving kicking a ball, with small differences from soccer in the contemporary world, which was effectively shaped at the end of the 19th century. The aim of this research is to demonstrate that cuju is important in the process of contextualizing the history of sport in the West, a fact that led FIFA to recognize cuju as the originator of soccer in the West at the beginning of the 21st century. Based on sources and bibliography, in this research I indicate two possible historical factors responsible for defining in the Western world how the English got the nickname “the inventors of footbal”.
