Resumen de Las infancias, el clericalismo y las escuelas: la experiencia de ser alumno o alumna en la provincia de Córdoba, Argentina, hacia fines del siglo XIX

En este artículo se analiza la influencia clerical en la experiencia de ser alumno y alumna en las escuelas públicas de la provincia de Córdoba, Argentina, hacia fines del siglo XIX. Se consideran las condiciones de vida de las infancias, tanto en áreas urbanas como en la campaña, las regulaciones sobre cómo debía ser su modo de estar en estas instituciones y el lugar detentado para la religión en diversas prácticas moralizantes y disciplinadoras. Este recorte es parte de una investigación en la que se analizan los vínculos entre el clericalismo y las escuelas en la provincia de Córdoba en las últimas décadas del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Dicho conflicto ha sido estudiado, habitualmente, con relación a su definición normativa, analizando fuentes tales como textos legales, debates parlamentarios y, en ocasiones, la prensa como vocera de las élites. En la investigación que presentamos se llevó adelante una indagación que sostuvo, en cambio, un acercamiento –sin dejar de considerar las prescripciones– a las prácticas institucionales y de aula y a las distintas acciones que configuraban la vida cotidiana de las escuelas y la experiencia escolar en torno a la religión católica, sus dogmas y rituales. Se parte de una breve contextualización y caracterización de la investigación y las fuentes con las que se ha trabajado, algunas decisiones teórico-metodológicas, y se sintetizan algunos hallazgos.

This paper analyzes the clerical influence on the experience of being a student in public schools in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, towards the end of the 19th century. The living conditions of children are considered, both in urban areas and in the countryside, the regulations on how their way of being in these institutions should be, and the place held for religion in various moralizing and disciplining practices. This clipping is part of an investigation that analyzes the links between clericalism and schools in the province of Córdoba in the last decades of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. This conflict has usually been studied in relation to its normative definition, analyzing sources such as legal texts, parliamentary debates and, often, the press as spokesperson for the elites. In the research we present, we carried out an investigation that, on the other hand, sustained an approach –while considering the prescriptions– to the institutional and classroom practices and to the different actions that shaped the daily life of the schools and the school experience around the Catholic religion, its dogmas and rituals. It starts with a brief contextualization and characterization of the research and the sources with which we have worked, some theoretical and methodological decisions, and some findings are synthesized.
