    This work transcribes the conference given by the historian Daniel James on August 11, 2023 in Buenos Aires, during the tribute to Alberto Belloni where, together with Horacio Tarcus, Estela de Belloni, Daniel Parcero and Dora Barrancos, the arrival at CeDInCI of the library and personal archive of Alberto Belloni, brought from Paris. In the conference, James offers a reflective, historical, intimate and personal tour of Belloni's life: his union militancy, his youth, his exiles, his passion for books and his job as a “true” collector.
