    La Práctica Odontológica es —a diferencia de la Práctica Dental que se materializa en la acción instrumentada sobre el componente bucal del organismo— un encuentro entre sujetos que no se restringe al acto clínico odontológico. La Práctica Dental favorece el distanciamiento del sujeto cognoscente al objeto por conocer; es decir, objetiva la realidad. Por el contrario, la Práctica Odontológica propicia el nexo entre los sujetos —la intersubjetividad— porque es una relación mediada por la palabra. Con la Práctica Odontológica se instaura el sujeto-ético, aquel que tiene la posibilidad de establecer el lazo social —propicia el mundo de la relación con el otro— en función de una ética que hace responsables a los actores de las palabras y de las acciones.

    The Health Practice in Dentistry is different from the Dental Practice; the last one, becomes reality during the instrumented action in the oral cavity. The Dental Practice favors the separation between the subject that knows and the object to be known, in other words, it makes the reality an object. On the contrary, the Health Practice in Dentistry promotes the link between subjects —the intersubjectivity— because it is a relationship by words. With the Health Practice in Dentistry the ethic-subject is established, with whom it is possible to create a social tie —the relationship with the other one's word— all of that in function of an ethics that make us responsible of words and actions.
