    El metaverso aún es una tecnología en desarrollo, pero el potencial que despliega para ser el sucesor inmediato del internet y las redes sociales, ha despertado el interés de las grandes compañías tecnológicas. Se predice que repercutirá en todos los aspectos y actividades de la sociedad, desde el entretenimiento, hasta modificar patrones de comportamientos; abrirá nichos de mercado, potenciará la educación, será fuente de empleo y revolucionará el marketing. Sin embargo, también puede afectar nuestros derechos, atentará contra nuestra privacidad, derechos de autor y datos personales; además potenciará las diferentes formas de cibercrimen. De cara al metaverso, las implicaciones legales que involucra son bastas, variadas y novedosas, sin embargo, la regulación jurídica con la actualmente contamos en todo el mundo es apenas insipiente.

    The metaverse is still a technology in development, but the potential it displays to be the immediate successor to the internet and social networks has aroused the interest of large technology companies. It is predicted that it will impact all aspects and activities of society, from entertainment to modifying behavioral patterns; It will open market niches, promote education, be a source of employment and revolutionize marketing. However, it may also affect our rights, it will violate our privacy, copyright and personal data; It will also enhance the different forms of cybercrime. Looking at the metaverse, the legal implications involved are vast, varied and novel, however the legal regulation we currently have around the world is barely incipient.
