    El convento San Agustín de la villa de Azpeitia, Guipúzcoa, fue una de las fundaciones de la Orden en el País Vasco. Esta casa religiosa perteneció a la Provincia Agustiniana de Castilla hasta su cierre, efectuado durante la Regencia del General Espartero. Su ubicación geográfica y la fuerte presencia del bando carlista durante la contienda surgida tras la muerte de Fernando VII por la disputa del trono, hizo que su desamortización y supresión no se iniciara hasta que finalizó el primer conflicto, a partir de 1840.

    The Saint Augustin s priory in Azpeitia, Guipúzcoa, was oneof the fundations of the Order in the Basque Country. This religioushouse belonged to the Agustinian Province of Castilla until its clo-sured, carried out during the Regency of General Espartero. Its geo-graphical location and the strong presence of the Carlist side duringthe dispute that arose after the death of Ferdinand VII due to thedispute over the throne, meant that its confiscation and suppressiondid not begin until the end of the first conflict, from 1840.Arch Ag 107 (2023) 81-101
