En la actualidad la palabra xenofobia es escuchada con gran frecuencia, la cual viene dada por el rechazo que sienten los nacionales de un país en contra de personas de otras nacionalidades que se asientan en sus naciones. Cabe resaltar que los movimientos de personas de un país a otro se han presentado desde tiempos muy remotos, originando rechazo por parte de los foráneos hacia ellas. La xenofobia no es más que el rechazo que reflejan los nacionales sobre los extranjeros, considerándolos como una amenaza que produce consecuencias negativas en el avance económico, político y social de sus naciones. El presente estudio tiene como propósito analizar la xenofobia y su relación con los delitos de odio. El método que se implemento fue el bibliográfico, para lo cual se hizo una revisión de diferentes documentos y artículos científicos, a fin de obtener información fidedigna del tema. El estudio permitió concluir que la intención de defender la igualdad y los derechos de los individuos, a través de organismos multilaterales como la ONU, viene dado desde hace ya mucho tiempo, y que en la actualidad siguen realizando tratados y declaraciones para tratar de que los Estados puedan normatizar estos temas y poder garantizar los derechos humanos de los individuos extranjeros, con el objetivo de erradicar la xenofobia y por ende los delitos de odio.

At present the word xenophobia is heard very frequently, which is given by the rejection felt by the nationals of a country against people of other nationalities who settle in their nations. It should be noted that the movements of people from one country to another have occurred since very remote times, causing rejection by foreigners towards them. Xenophobia is nothing more than the rejection that nationals reflect on foreigners, considering them as a threat that produces negative consequences in the economic, political and social development of their nations. The purpose of this study is to analyze xenophobia and its relationship with hate crimes. The method that was implemented was the bibliographic one, for which a review of different documents and scientific articles was made, in order to obtain reliable information on the subject. The study allowed us to conclude that the intention to defend equality and the rights of people, through multilateral organizations such as the UN, has been going on for a long time, and that they currently continue to make treaties and declarations to try to ensure that States can standardize these issues and be able to guarantee the human rights of foreigners, with the aim of eradicating xenophobia and therefore hate crimes.
