A partir de mediados del siglo pasado la preocupación por un medio ambiente sano ha ido en incremento y ha hecho que la regulación ambiental sea analizada por los Estados a partir de sus Constituciones y leyes federales. Realizaré un análisis breve del artículo 4o. constitucional para reflexionar en qué estatus se encuentran los animales cuando se habla del derecho a un medio ambiente sano, ya que es en el medio ambiente donde nacen, crecen y se reproducen los animales y, en general, todos los seres vivos.

Since the middle of the last century, the concern for a healthy environment has been increasing and has caused environmental regulation to be analyzed by the States based on their Constitutions and federal laws. I will brief analyze article 4 of the Constitution to reflect on the status of animals when speaking of the right to a healthy environment, since it is in the environment where animals and, in general, all living beings are born, grow and reproduce
