    La investigación puede ser concebida como un proceso dirigido a la producción y difusión del conocimiento, en el contexto de un compromiso ético que garantice su credibilidad y su aplicación. El objetivo del presente artículo, es reflexionar sobre la naturaleza de la relación entre ética, investigación y ciencias sociales. Este trabajo es de tipo reflexivo, con un método filosófico-hermenéutico y un diseño documental. Dado que el conocimiento no es neutro, la investigación de la que surge tampoco lo es. Los sujetos que le dan origen a la actividad y el proceso investigativo, tampoco son neutrales. La tesis de la neutralidad valorativa, ha quedado en el pasado por su función ideológica interesada. El conocimiento totalmente objetivo, donde la influencia del sujeto en el objeto es nulo, precario o inexistente, está completamente superado. La conducta humana es la que le da sentido a la construcción del conocimiento de la realidad. Esta actuación es la que permite la valoración ética sobre los fines de las acciones y su comportamiento intencional. El investigador requiere preguntarse por la jerarquía de los valores que guiarán su práctica investigativa. Desde este punto de vista, si la justicia social sería la que orienta esta jerarquía, las cuestiones de mayor relevancia serían: la dignidad, la solidaridad, la equidad, los derechos humanos, las necesidades y las capacidades humanas. Pensar la ética como reflexión sobre la moral genera un marco más amplio para entender la ética de la investigación.

    Research can be conceived as a process aimed at the production and dissemination of knowledge, in the context of an ethical commitment that guarantees its credibility and application. The objective of this article is to reflect on the nature of the relationship between ethics, research and social sciences. This work is reflective, with a philosophical-hermeneutical method and a documentary design. Since knowledge is not neutral, the research from which it arises is not neutral either. The subjects who give rise to the activity and the investigative process are not neutral either. The thesis of value neutrality has remained in the past due to its self-interested ideological function. Totally objective knowledge, where the influence of the subject on the object is null, precariousor non-existent, is completely surpassed. Human behavior is what gives meaning to the construction of knowledge of reality. This action is what allows the ethical assessment of the purposes of the actions and their intentional behavior. The researcher needs to ask himself about the hierarchy of values that will guide his research practice. From this point of view, if social justice would be what guides this hierarchy, the most relevant issues would be: dignity, solidarity, equity, human rights, human needs and capabilities. Thinking about ethics as a reflection on morality generates a broader framework for understanding research ethics
