  En este trabajo propondremos que los comparativos léxicos antes y después son núcleos diádicos que seleccionan dos argumentos, la base y diferencial.

  Adoptando la hipótesis cartográfica, mostraremos que estas categorías son el reflejo morfológico de una serie de rasgos funcionales: el rasgo aditivo/sustractivo y unos rasgos vectoriales, que permiten motivar la configuración sintáctica que antes y después proyectan. Argumentaremos, finalmente, que las propiedades nominales que poseen se explican porque esta configuración sintáctica está dominada por un núcleo nominal TIME no pronunciado, que es complemento, a su vez, de una preposición estativa abstracta AT.

  In this paper we propose that in Spanish the lexical comparatives antes and después select two arguments that we dub base and differential. Adopting the cartographic hypothesis, we show that these categories are the morphological reflection of a series of functional features: the additive/subtractive feature and the vectorial features, which articulate the syntactic configuration they build. Finally, we show that the nominal properties of the syntactic configuration headed by antes or después stem from the fact that such configuration is dominated by a non-pronounced head noun TIME, selected by a covert stative preposition AT
