Resumen de Antecedentes sobre avifauna del bien nacional protegido islote Albatros (AMCP-MU Seno Almirantazgo)

  Este trabajo presenta los registros incidentales directos por avistamiento e indirectos mediante cámara trampa, de ocupación y anidamiento de aves en el Bien Nacional Protegido Islote Albatros, obtenidos en el marco de las actividades de monitoreo de la colonia reproductiva albatros de ceja negra Thalassarche melanophris (Temminck, 1828) y las acciones de control del visón americano Neovison vison (Schreber, 1777) llevadas a cabo por Wildlife Conservation Society Chile desde el año 2016. Se pudo identificar un total de 16 de especies de aves. Entre los hallazgos destacan registros de becacina grande Gallinago stricklandii (Gray, 1845) y carpintero negro Campephilus magellanicus (King, 1828), así como anidamiento de salteador chileno Stercorarius chilensis (Bonaparte, 1857) y caranca Chloephaga hybrida hybrida (Molina, 1782). La riqueza total de aves del Islote Albatros, considerando publicaciones previas y registros en eBird, se establece en 42 especies.

  This study presents the direct incidental records by sighting and indirect records by camera trap, of occupation and nesting of birds in the National Protected Asset Albatross Islet, obtained in the context of the monitoring activities of the breeding colony of black-browed albatross Thalassarche melanophris (Temminck, 1828) and the American mink Neovison vison (Schreber, 1777) control actions of the carried out by Wildlife Conservation Society Chile since 2016. A total of 16 bird species were identified. Notable among the findings were records of Fuegian snipe Gallinago stricklandii (Gray, 1845) and Magellanic woodpecker Campephilus magellanicus (King, 1828), as well as Chilean skua Stercorarius chilensis (Bonaparte, 1857) and Kelp goose Chloephaga hybrida hybrida (Molina, 1782) nesting. The total bird richness of Albatross Islet, considering previous publications and eBird records, is established at 42 species.
