Resumen de El poder moderador y la monarquía parlamentaria

En el presente artículo se analiza la evolución de la institución monárquica en el pensamiento de Benjamín Constant, para poder entender hoy, los beneficios que el denominado poder moderador puede aportar a un régimen democrático. Se estudian además las ventajas que un rey parlamentario puede aportar al sistema político español y cómo está regulada la institución en la Constitución española, en cuanto a sus funciones genéricas (art. 56.1).

This article analyzes the evolution of the monarchical institution in the Benjamín Constant´s thought, in order to understand today the benefits that the so-called moderating power can bring to a democratic regime. The advantages that a parliamentary king can bring to the Spanish political system and how the institution is regulated in the Spanish Constitution are also studied, in terms of its generic functions (art. 56.1).
