La epistemología naturalizada de Quine vs. la indeterminación de la traducción. Un enfoque estructuralista

    El objetivo del presente artículo consiste en mostrar que la teoría quineana de la indeterminación de la traducción es incompatible con cualquier intento naturalizador de la epistemología, pues si aceptamos que una de las implicaciones de la indeterminación de la traducción es la eliminación del discurso intensional, entonces, no sería posible elaborar patrones objetivos que sirvan como indicadores de progreso y de conocimiento científico genuinos. Además, me basaré en la distinción estructuralista entre Términos-teóricos y Términos-no-teóricos con el objeto de cuestionar el conductismo al que puede llegar el naturalismo quineano, el punto en esta parte del trabajo es que esta distinción es importante para que una teoría científica pueda realizar predicciones de una forma satisfactoria.

    This paper intends to show that Quine's theory of the indeterminacy of translation is incompatible with any attempt at naturalizing epistemology, because if we accept that one of the implications of the indeterminacy of translation is the elimination of intensional discourse, then it would not be possible to develop objective standards that serve as indicators of progress and genuine scientific knowledge. In addition, I will draw on the structuralist distinction between theoretical-terms and non-theoretical-terms, in order to criticize the behaviorism to which Quinean naturalism can lead. The point in this part of the work is that this distinction is important for a scientific theory can make predictions in a satisfactory way.
