Resumen de Oligarchie, adelige, bürger: ungarn in den jahren 1458–60

Gyorgy Szekely

  • In this article György Székely has re-examined the political crisis launched by the election of Matthias Hunyadi/Corvinus as king of Hungary in 1458. The king's initial position was insecure, but he was able to manoeuvre between the magnates, the gentry and the burghers, and by 1460 was beginning to establish greater freedom of action for the monarchy, and in the process diminish the dominance of the magnates and offer more active participation in affairs of state to the gentry and the burghers
