Resumen de El viaje a Italia en la España dieciochesca: Del pensamiento ilustrado al neoclásico

Este trabajo analiza cómo las corrientes artísticas y estéticas que estaban en auge durante el siglo XVIII se manifestaron en la literatura sobre el viaje a Italia de los españoles de este periodo. Es decir, de qué manera el Neoclasicismo influyó en las opiniones sobre el patrimonio artístico de dichos viajeros. Al mismo tiempo, también se estudia la influencia del pensamiento ilustrado que ya llevaba implícito el Grand Tour. Para ello, se han seleccionado las obras que tratan sobre el viaje a Italia de los dos viajeros españoles más importantes de finales del siglo XVIII: Juan Andrés y Morell y Leandro Fernández de Moratín.

This paper analyses how the artistic and aesthetic movements that were at their height during the 18th century manifested themselves in the literature on the travel to Italy of the Spaniards of this period. In other words, how Neoclassicism influenced the opinions on the artistic heritage of these travellers. At the same time, the influence of the Enlightenment thinking that was already implicit in the Grand Tour is also studied. To this end, we have selected the works that deal with the journey to Italy of the two most important Spanish travellers of the late 18th century: Juan Andrés y Morell and Leandro Fernández de Moratín.
