Los cuestionarios Moodle como una herramienta para mejorar la calidad de la docencia y fomentar el aprendizaje en el aula universitaria

    La necesidad de lograr una mayor motivación, dedicación y profundidad en el aprendizaje de los alumnos, en primer lugar, y de introducir las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) como herramienta de apoyo en el aula, en segundo lugar, siguen constituyendo dos retos importantes para el diseño de metodologías docentes en la enseñanza universitaria. El presente proyecto, que comenzó a aplicarse en el curso 2018-2019, surgió de la necesidad de dar respuesta a estos retos y tuvo como objetivo desarrollar una experiencia de aprendizaje innovadora basada en el uso de las TIC como herramienta facilitadora del aprendizaje y motivadora en el aula. Específicamente, el proyecto se centró en el desarrollo e implementación de una serie de cuestionarios a través de la plataforma Moodle para las asignaturas Literatura Norteamericana I, II, III y IV, impartidas durante el segundo, tercer y cuarto curso del Grado en Estudios Ingleses. Con estos cuestionarios, se pretendía facilitar la comprensión individual de la materia, hacer a los alumnos protagonistas de su propio proceso de aprendizaje, incrementar su motivación y detectar sus necesidades para así poder adaptar la actividad docente a las mismas. Los buenos resultados obtenidos en este proyecto (detallados en el presente artículo) así como las buenas valoraciones por parte de los alumnos, evidencian la pertinencia de utilizar la herramienta de cuestionarios Moodle en el aula universitaria.

    The need to increase the students’ motivation and commitment, and to foster deep learning, in the first place, as well as the need to introduce Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as a support tool in the classroom, secondly, still constitute two important challenges for the design of teaching methodologies in university education. The present project, which was first introduced in the 2018-2019 academic year, arose from the need to respond to these challenges and aimed to develop an innovative learning experience based on the use of ICT as tools that can facilitate learning and increase motivation. Specifically, the project focused on the development and implementation of a series of questionnaires through the Moodle platform for the subjects North American Literature I, II, III and IV, taught during the second, third and fourth year of the Degree in English Studies. With these questionnaires, we aimed to improve individual understanding of the subject, make the students protagonists of their own learning process, increase their motivation, and detect their needs in order to adapt the teaching activity to these needs. The good results obtained in this project (detailed in this paper) as well as the students’ positive feedback, underline the pertinence of using the Moodle Questionnaire tool in the university classroom.
