  Este artículo muestra la realidad del sistema de rehabilitación social ecuatoriano y cómo ha transformado a las personas privadas de libertad en sus nuevas víctimas. En esta línea, el presente trabajo tiene por objetivo determinar los mecanismos que debe implementar el Estado ecuatoriano para garantizar a las personas privadas de libertad la efectiva rehabilitación social dentro de los centros penitenciarios del país, al resultar insuficientes las acciones implementadas por el Estado ecuatoriano y ser evidente la vulneración de los derechos fundamentales consagrados en la Constitución de la República y en instrumentos internacionales. A través de una investigación mixta, aplicando el método analítico-sintético y como instrumento de recolección de datos una encuesta a las personas privadas de libertad, se expone la situación actual que vive este grupo vulnerable dentro de los centros penitenciarios y la crisis en la que se encuentran inmersos, proponiendo una acción inmediata de los órganos del ramo para detener tanta violencia y garantizar una efectiva rehabilitación de las personas privadas de libertad.

  This article shows the reality of the Ecuadorian social rehabilitation system and how it has transformed people deprived of liberty into its new victims. In this line, the present work aims to determine the mechanisms that the Ecuadorian State must implement to guarantee effective social rehabilitation for persons deprived of liberty within the country's prisons, as the actions implemented by the Ecuadorian State are insufficient and the violation of the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic and in international instruments must be evident.

  Through a mixed investigation, applying the analytical-synthetic method and as a data collection instrument a survey of people deprived of liberty, the current situation that this vulnerable group lives within prisons and the crisis in which They are immersed, proposing immediate action by the organs of the branch to stop so much violence and guarantee an effective rehabilitation of persons deprived of liberty.
