    Las etiquetas o marbetes que, pegadas a las botellas sirven para identificar su contenido, tienen en el Marco del Jerez su época de esplendor en el periodo comprendido entre el último tercio del siglo XIX y la Guerra Civil.

    Entre los motivos iconográficos que sirven para ilustrar esta nueva forma de emblemas, están los alusivos al mundo clásico, aunque no constituyen una mayoría.

    En este trabajo se trata de buscar la razón por la cual se utilizan dichos motivos iconográficos, bien sea por la calidad del vino o licor, el público al que va dirigido o el lugar en que se ha de consumir

    The labels or tags that, attached to the bottles, serve to identify their content, have their heyday in the Marco del Jerez in the period between the last third of the 19th century and the Spanish Civil War. Among the iconographic motifs that serve to illustrate this new form of emblems, there are those alluding to the classical world, although they do not constitute a majority.

    This paper seeks to find the reason why these iconographic motifs are used, either because of the quality of the wine or liquor, the target public or the place where it is to be consumed.
