    Attis, paredros frigio y sacerdote eunuco de la Madre Diosa, es una figura capital en el desarrollo de las representaciones míticas y cúlticas de Cibeles en la religión y cultura antigua, especialmente en la Roma de época imperial. Sin embargo, su aparición en ciertas inscripciones epigráficas frigias y su representación en ciertos testimonios literarios griegos resultan problemáticos a la hora de analizar su rol y función en la construcción mítica e histórica de su figura junto a la diosa. El propósito de esta investigación será exponer las construcciones y relatos míticos e históricos sobre la figura literaria e histórica de Attis en Frigia, Grecia y Roma.

    Attis, Phrygian paredros and eunuch priest of the Goddess Mother is a major figure in the development of the mythic and cultic representations of Cybele in ancient religion and culture, especially in the Rome of the Imperial era. Nonetheless, his emergence in certain Phrygian epigraphic inscription and his representation in certain literary Greek evidence is problematic when it comes to analyzing his role and function in the mythic and historical construction of his figure along with the Goddess. The purpose of this research will be to show the constructions and mythic-historical storytelling about Attis’s literary and historical figure in Phrygia, Greece, and Rome.
