Este artículo ofrece un análisis sobre la poshumanización y el lugar que ocupa lo ancestral en la novela Irisde Edmundo Paz Soldán. Se estudian las complejas relaciones que emergen entre la resistencia política y cul-tural, las religiones, diferentes formas de liderazgo y asuntos psicoemo-cionales. Aparece entonces, la pregunta filosófica sobre el ser humano a partir del futuro distópico que proyecta la novela, y las dinámicas que en el mundo narrado repercuten en la humanidad

This article offers an analysis of post-humanization and the place of the ancestral in Edmundo Paz Soldán’s novel Iris. It explores the complex relationships that emerge between political and cultural resistance, reli-gions, different forms of leadership, and psycho-emotional issues. From the novel ́s projected dystopian future and the dynamics that impact hu-manity in the narrated world, finally arises the philosophical question about mankind
