By analyzing the sources from the Neapolitan archives, the focus will be on the various spheres of influence generated by the Spanish presence. Apart from the formal centers of power, attention will be given to the institutions that emerged in the new urban area -churches, national corporations, and houses-, as well as the social and family organization that developed around them. In this way, an urban system will be presented, which is far from discreet and intimately interconnected vertically and horizontally through the social connections established by its inhabitants, serving as one of the foundations of the Neapolitan viceroyalty system. The construction of the quartieri spagnoli in the city of Naples began in 1533, during the viceroyalty of Pedro de Toledo (1532-1533), with the objective of separating the Spanish military stationed there from the rest of the population.
