Resumen de "Pietas parrochialis". Propuestas cofrades en la Granada moderna: Jerarquización y funcionalidad

  En las parroquias arraigaron, como mínimo, las cofradías consideradas “ordinarias”: la sacramental, la de ánimas del purgatorio y alguna mariana. Destacan también las “esclavitudes”, generalmente de signo eucarístico, y otras con advocaciones de santos, en algunos casos el santo titular de la parroquia. A diferencia de las establecidas en otras sedes, las cofradías parroquiales fueron mejor controladas por la autoridad diocesana, con el clero parroquial como intermediario. Entre ellas se estableció una jerarquía que encabezaba la hermandad dedicada al Santísimo Sacramento, seguida por la de Ánimas. En general, todas ellas colaboraron intensamente con la misma parroquia en la creación, más o menos consciente, de una piedad popular propia del ámbito parroquial, como forma de disciplinamiento social, donde la jerarquía diocesana y las propias cofradías intentaban entenderse.

  In the parishes, at least, the confraternities considered “ordinarias” took root: the Sacramental, the Souls in purgatory and some of the Virgin Mary. The“esclavitudes” also stand out, generally with a Eucharistic sign, and others withinvocations of saints, in some cases the titular saint of the parish. Unlike thoseestablished in other churches, the parish brotherhoods were better controlled by the diocesan authority, with the parish clergy as intermediaries. Among them a hierarchy was established, headed by the confraternity dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament, followed by that of Souls. In general, all of them collaborated intensely with the same parish in the creation, more or less conscious, of a popular piety typical of the parish environment, as a form of social discipline, where the diocesan hierarchy and the confraternities themselves tried to understand each other.
