Desde un primer acercamiento al estudio de la testamentaria de doña Ana Fernández de Córdoba y Figueroa (1608-1679), duquesa de Feria, se contribuye a la identificación y difusión del legado patrimonial que dio origen al Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Paz en Madrid (1679); una institución de la que fue fundadora y promotora. La historiografía moderna y contemporánea no ha tratado con profundidad ni la figura ni el quehacer filántropo de esta mujer. Las dos principales razones para indagar en su vida, a través de un estudio que no solo arroje luz sobre ella, sino también de los pormenores iniciales del Colegio que fundó; un acontecimiento de significación sociocultural en el Madrid del XVII. Desde un punto de vista metodológico, la investigación tiene un enfoque biográfico y se enmarca tanto dentro de la historia de las mujeres como de la historia de las instituciones caritativas modernas, analizándose la testamentaria vinculada con la duquesa, concretamente la parte material.

From this first approach to the study of the will of doña Ana Fernández de Córdoba y Figueroa, duchess of Feria (1608-1679), it contributes to the identification and diffusion of the hereditary legacy that gave rise to the Colegio de Nuestra Señora de la Paz (1679); an institution of which she was the founder and promoter. Modern and contemporary historiography has not engaged deeply neither with the figure nor this woman. The two main reasons to delve into her life, through a study that does not only shed light on her, but also the preliminary details of the institution that shefounded; an event of sociocultural significance in the Madrid of the 17th century. From a methodological point of view, the investigation has a biographical focus and is situated both within history of modern charitable organizations, analysing the will connected to the duchess, specifically its material aspect.
