    El objetivo de esta contribución consiste en presentar los factores que se han de tener en cuenta para investigar la noticia de un periódico y marcar sus pautas metodológicas. Así, nos serviremos del Mercurio Histórico y Político-Mercurio de España (1738-1830). Primero haremos un breve recorrido historiográfico. Seguidamente definiremos qué es una noticia y cuáles son sus características. Después abordaremos los factores que entendemos que condicionan su elaboración. Una vez visto esto pasamos al análisis propio de la noticia. El siguiente paso radica en detectar la fuente de la que se extrajo esa noticia y compararlas. Así nos aproximamos a los filtros y razones –ideológicos o periodísticos– que llevarían a una redacción a componer su periódico y construir la opinión pública. En concreto, delos terremotos italianos de 1783.

    The aim of this contribution consists in presenting the factors that must take toresearch the news of a new spaper and mark his methodological guidelines. Like this, we will serve us of the Mercurio Histórico y Político-Mercurio de España (1738-1830). First, we will do a brief route historiographic. Next, we will define what is a news and which are his characteristics. Later we will accost the factors that understand that they condition his preparation. Once seen this spend to the analysis typical of the news. The following step roots in detecting the source of which extracted this news, and this spends to compare. Like this we approximate us to the filters and reasons –ideological or journalistic– that would spend to the editorial office to compose his newspaper and build the public opinion. In concrete, of the Italian earthquakes of 1783.
