La victimización por ciberodio entre los jóvenes: una perspectiva de género y generacional

    Los comportamientos relacionados con el discurso del odio en Internet entre adolescentes y jóvenes están causando preocupación en la comunidad internacional. Este trabajo recoge los resultados de una encuesta a 600 jóvenes sobre la experiencia de ser víctima de comentarios desagradables en redes sociales. Los resultados se analizan descriptivamente por sexo y grupos de edad, según el motivo de haber recibido estos comentarios ofensivos o de odio. Los motivos más frecuentes fueron opiniones sociopolíticas, seguidas de las opiniones sobre el feminismo. Se encontraron diferencias asociadas, por un lado, al género solo para las opiniones sobre el feminismo y, por otro, a la edad, la nacionalidad o el origen y las opiniones sobre el feminismo. Las principales causas de ser víctima de comentarios ofensivos o de odio están relacionadas con las opiniones sobre el feminismo y el género, más entre las mujeres que entre los hombres, y más entre los adolescentes.

    Hate speech-related behaviors on the Internet among adolescents and young people are causing concern in the international community. The victim and gender perspective is present in the most recent scientific research because of the intersectional nature of hate cri-mes and hate speech. This paper collects the results of a representative survey administered by telephone to 600 young people on experiences of being a victim of unpleasant comments on social networks for different reasons. The results are analyzed descriptively by sex and age groups; according to the reason for having received these offensive or hateful comments. A total of 44,5% of the respondents stated that they had been victims of offensive or hate speech. The most frequent reasons were socio-political opinions, followed by opinions on feminism. Differences were found to be associated, on the one hand, with gender only for opinions on feminism and, on the other hand, with age, nationality or origin and opinions on feminism. One of the main causes of being a victim of offensive or hateful comments are related to opinions on feminism and gender, more among women than men and among adolescents than young people.
