  Dentro de las enfermedades neurodegenerativas progresivas se encuentra la esclerosis lateral amiotrófica, considerada una enfermedad devastadora debido a su carácter progresivo de invalidez, que lleva al paciente a la muerte, lo que constituye  un problema de salud por el sufrimiento que causa a pacientes y familiares. La correcta coordinación multidisciplinaria mejora la calidad de vida del paciente. Se realizaron búsquedas en varias fuentes de información con diferentes términos relacionados con la esclerosis lateral amiotrófica. Se van a abordar los más relevantes de la enfermedad: definición, causas, manifestaciones clínicas, diagnósticos, evolución,  pronóstico y tratamiento que atravesarán los pacientes. Además, se puede comprobar la importancia que tiene la correcta organización del equipo multidisciplinario en el tratamiento de estos pacientes, en el cual el fisioterapeuta el más relevante, pues desde principio a fin está implicado en mantener un nivel funcional y de autonomía posible durante el transcurso de la enfermedad.

The correct coordination multidisciplinary improvement the quality of the patient's life. They were carried out searches in several sources of information with different terms related with the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. They will approach the most outstanding in the illness: definition, causes, clinical, diagnostic manifestations, evolution, presage and treatment that the patients will cross. Also, it can be proven the importance that has the correct organization of the multidisciplinary team in the treatment of these patients, being the physiotherapist the most outstanding, because fromprinciple to end is implied in maintaining a functional level and of possible autonomy during the course of the illness.
