    Este estudio presenta, un análisis teórico entre la epistemología y la investigación cuantitativa y la relación entre ellas, desde una perspectiva teórica en la educación superior, para ello se ha utiliza el análisis conceptual de la ciencia en ambos términos, determinando, que el estudio teórico del conocimiento epistemológico, es el conocimiento científico en el campo de la epistemología, en todo el campo de la educación que abarca a docentes y estudiantes; ello, tienen su apreciación, como parte de la gnoseología o filosofía de la ciencia; sin embrago, éste último no corresponde. La investigación cuantitativa suma los paradigmas de los hechos, la estructura de la ciencia, la verificación de las hipótesis o hacer la investigación para cambiar un hecho; más aún, se considera, como una inferencia estadística del método científico. El estudio engloba dos términos distintos y a la vez complementarios en el conocimiento científico, cuyo sustento es en el enfoque cuantitativo del método hipotético – deductivo, el que está comprendido en el estudio de la ciencia; por lo demás, ambas variables de estudio se encaminan en la estructura científica, la metodología y los paradigmas científicos, la pedagogía como didáctica educativa y la epistemología en su tarea descriptiva, crítica y de orientación de la ciencia.

    This study presents a theoretical analysis between epistemology and quantitative research and the relationship of the indicated variables, from a theoretical perspective in higher education, for which the conceptual analysis of science has been used in both terms, determining that the Theoretical study of epistemological knowledge, is scientific knowledge in the field of epistemology, in the entire field of education that includes teachers and students; They have their appreciation, as part of the gnoseology or philosophy of science; however, the latter does not correspond. Quantitative research adds the paradigms of the facts, the structure of science, the verification of the hypotheses or doing the research to change a fact; moreover, it is considered as a statistical inference of the scientific method. The study includes two different and at the same time complementary terms in scientific knowledge, whose support is in the quantitative approach of the hypothetical - deductive method, which is included in the study of science; otherwise, both study variables are directed towards the scientific structure, scientific methodology and paradigms, pedagogy as educational didactics and epistemology in its descriptive, critical and science orientation task.
