    El teatro musical es un género artístico que tiene como base el teatro, al cual se integran canciones, coros (con voz o instrumentales) y danzas, que se combinan con el fin de contar historias. El teatro musical, desde 1886, se ha vuelto cada vez más famoso en países como Estados Unidos, Cuba, Argentina, entre otros. Sin embargo, en Perú, recién en la última década, ha comenzado a ganar mayor popularidad. Los artistas que lo ejercen utilizan ciertos términos específicos de su profesión, los cuales, generalmente, tienen una acepción diferente a la que se encuentra en el Diccionario de la lengua española (Real Academia Española, 2014). Este artículo recoge cuarenta y seis (46) voces que se han obtenido a través de entrevistas a artistas dedicados al teatro musical. Esta investigación es de carácter descriptivo y tiene como objetivo definir las voces de este léxico empleando la técnica lexicográfica. Cada voz presentada está compuesta por información etimológica, marcas gramaticales, la definición, ejemplos de uso y, en algunos casos, notas lexicográficas.

    Musical theater is an artistic genre based on theater, which integrates songs, choirs (with voice or instrumentals) and dances, which are combined with the purpose of telling stories. Since 1886, musical theater has become more and more famous in countries such as the United States, Cuba, Argentina, among others. However, in Peru, only in the last decade, it has become increasingly popular. The artists in this field use certain terms specific to their jobs, which generally have a different meaning from that found in the Dictionary of the Spanish Language (2019). This paper collects forty-six (46) words that have been recovered from interviews with artists dedicated to musical theater. This research is descriptive in nature and aims at defining the words of this lexicon using the lexicographic technique. Each term contains etymological information, grammatical marks, definition, examples of use and, in some cases, lexicographical notes.
