La Iglesia Primada de Toledo ejerció una notable influencia en la esfera general de gobierno, con la presencia frecuente del cardenal arzobispo en la Corte, y también en la ciudad de Toledo. Su poderoso cabildo capitular, a través de la copiosa riqueza material y de la influencia de su clero en las instituciones y en las personas, se erigió en un referente importante en el devenir cotidiano. Los corregidores designados por la Corona para regir los destinos de la urbe se vieron obligados a mantener una relación de cordialidad y entendimiento con la finalidad de lograr una gobernanza pacífica y fructífera.En la presente comunicación se busca conocer con más detalle los pormenores de la relación entre esos dos órganos de poder secular y clerical -corregidor y cabildo catedral- donde no faltaron momentos de tensión junto a otros de estrecha cooperación este trabajo.

The Primate Cathedral of Toledo wielded significant influence in the general domain of government, with the frequent presence of the cardinal archbishop at Court, and also in the city of Toledo. Its powerful cathedral chapter, through its rich material wealth and the influence of its clergy on institutions and individuals, became an important point of reference in the daily life of the city. The corregidores appointed by the Crown to govern the destinies of the city were obliged to maintain a relationship of cordiality and understanding in order to achieve peaceful and successful governance.In this dissertation we seek to examine in more depth the details of the relationship between these two bodies of secular and clerical power -corregidor and cathedral chapter- where there were moments of tension as well as moments of close cooperation between them.
