La gestión hospitalaria y el papel de los administrativos

    Los ciudadanos saben que, cuando les urge tratarse de una enfermedad, o bien visitarse por un médico de familia o especialista, serán atendidos en su centro sanitario u hospital. Sin embargo, pocos conocen quiénes se encuentran detrás de la gestión hospitalaria, sin la cual los procedimientos serían inviables y caóticos. En gran parte, la gestión de los hospitales corre a cargo del personal administrativo en sus diferentes categorías, desde auxiliares a técnicos1.

    Las funciones de administrador hospitalario son múltiples. Entre las más destacadas se encuentra la planificación de estrategias y objetivos, además de desempeñar funciones en el área administrativa, cuyos trabajadores tendrán que cumplir en muchos casos las indicaciones del administrador hospitalario.

    De la planificación hospitalaria dependerán aspectos tan importantes como la rápida atención, la derivación correcta de los pacientes a las unidades correspondientes en el mínimo tiempo, así como todas las rehabilitaciones que precisen las diferentes áreas de los hospitales.

    Citizens know that, when they urgently need to be treated for an illness, or visit a family doctor or specialist, they will be treated at their health center or hospital. However, few know who is behind hospital management, without which the procedures would be unviable and chaotic. To a large extent, the management of hospitals is carried out by administrative staff in their different categories, from assistants to technicians.

    The functions of a hospital administrator are multiple. Among the most notable are the planning of strategies and objectives, in addition to performing functions in the administrative area, whose workers will in many cases have to comply with the instructions of the hospital administrator.

    Important aspects such as rapid, correct referral of patients to the corresponding units in the minimum time, as well as all the rehabilitation required by the different areas of the hospitals, will depend on hospital planning.
