El autor analiza, en términos estrictamente jurídico-constitucionales, la viabilidad de la reforma del art. 11 de la Constitución italiana, que constituye la base del principio de apertura del ordenamiento jurídico, instrumento clave para la viabilidad del proceso de integración europea. En este sentido, recurre a la idea de identidad constitucional para establecer, en términos comparativos, la posibilidad, o no, de reformar el mencionado precepto y las posibles consecuencias que podría acarrear esta revisión respecto a la constitucionalización de la integración de Italia en la UE o, incluso, respecto a la producción de un hipotético Italexit.

The author analyses, in strictly legal-constitutional terms, the viability of reforming art. 11 of the Italian Constitution, which constitutes the basis of the principle of openness of the legal system, a key instrument for the viability of the process of European integration. In this sense, he resorts to the idea of constitutional identity to establish, in comparative terms, the possibility, or not, of reforming the afore mentioned precept and the possible consequences that this revision could entail with respect to the constitutionalisation of Italy's integration into the EU or, even, with respect to the production of a hypothetical Italexit.
