The sintering behaviour of Next 400 prealloyed powder was studied by free sintering. Atmospheres with different hydrogen/nitrogen ratios were used in the sintering cycles. Powder compacts with and without diamond additions were sintered. Uncoated and Ti coated diamonds were used. The interaction between bond/atmosphere/diamond was characterized in terms of density, microstructure and degradation of the diamonds after dissolving the matrix. Diamonds processed under atmospheres with low hydrogen content showed evidence of strong degradation. Both sintering atmosphere and oxygen content of the raw materials are critical parameters in order to protect the surface of the diamonds.
Next 400 hauts prealeatuaren segmentuen sinterizazio aztertu da. Higrogeno/nitrogeno erlazio ezberdineko atmosferak erabili dira sinterizazio askeko zikloetan. Hauts konpositeak diamantearekin eta diamante gabe sinterizatuak izan dira. Diamanteak estaldurarik gabe eta Ti estaldurarekin erabili dira.
Matrize/diamante/atmosferaren arteko interakzioa karakterizatu da dentsitatea, mikroegitura eta diamanten degradazioa matrizea disolbatu ostean aztertuz. Atmosfera ez erreduktoreetatik ateratako diamanteek degradazio handiagoa erakusten dute. Sinterizazio-atmosfera eta lehengaien oxigenokantitatea parametro kritikoak dira diamanteen gainazala babesteko.
